For the sixth year, the Seats for Soldiers event gave a one of kind NBA experience to the country's military heroes. "We really appreciate it and we feel welcomed," says a very excited Cpl. Javier Rivera. The 25-year-old is one of hundreds of wounded warriors from Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
On Saturday night Mavs season ticket holders gave up their floor seats to honor them since they've never really gotten a proper homecoming."All these soldiers we were medevaced so we never experienced that here and all the support," says Wendy Kosek, who is a captain with the Air Force.
For all that they've sacrificed the military heroes were the focus for this night. The wounded warriors got a warm welcome from North Texans outside the restaurant Abacus in Dallas. They were also treated to a 3 course meal. American Airlines provided the transportation and the flight crew donated their time.
